respite

I prefer winter and fall, when you feel the bone structure of the landscape - the loneliness of it, the dead feeling of winter. Something waits beneath it, the whole story doesn't show.

I went away for the weekend. Hours spent hiking, skiing and just being outside. A lovely time of reflection and aloneness. Time spent without interruption or the necessary things. As I walked down trails, following whatever captured my interest, the beauty was so satisfying.
